What was in the Ark of Covenant? Both 1 Kings 8:9 and 2 Chronicles 5:10 say nothing were in them but the tablets of stone, but Hebrews 9:4 says that besides the tablets of stone, there was also a golden pot filled with manna, and Aaron's rod that budded. Is there a contradiction?

The ark, at one time had inside it a golden pot filled with manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the two tablets of stone upon which the law of God had been written. Since 1 Kings 8:9 and 2 Chronicles 5:10 reveal that at the time of Solomon all that remained in the ark were the tablets of stone, we can safely assume that when the ark had been taken into the possession of the enemies of Israel, they took from it the golden pot and Aaron's rod.

There is no contradiction.
