THE ATHEIST'S COMPLAINT:
When did Ahaziah begin to reign? In the twelfth year of Joram (2 Ki 8:25) or in the eleventh year of Joram (2 Ki 9:29)? Is there a contradiction?

RESPONSE:
A reasonable explanation is that Ahaziah began to reign along side his father (who was plagued with sickness, 2 Chr 21:18-19) during the eleventh year of Joram, but in the twelfth year, he began to reign alone.

There is no contradiction.
