Answering The Atheist

THE ATHEIST'S COMPLAINT:
When did the transfiguration occur? Was it six days after Jesus foretold His death (Matthew 16:28-17:2; Mark 9:1-2) or was it eight days after He foretold His death (Luke 9:27-28). Is there a contradiction?
Six days after Jesus foretold His death, He departed with Peter, James and John to ascend in the high mountains. Did they attain to the top of the mountain on the same day on which they left for it? It would seem logical that they departed six days after Jesus spoke of His death, and that the transfiguration took placed two days later, "about eight days after" His sayings.
There is no contradiction.
