Who did Elhanan kill? 2 Samuel 21:19 says that he killed Goliath (the words "the brother of" were inserted by the KJV translators to avoid the obvioius contradiction with 1 Samuel 17:49-51), but 1 Chronicles 20:5 says that he killed Lahmi, the brother of Goliath? Is there a contradiction?

How old was Abram when Ishmael was born? Genesis 16:16 says that he was 86, but other verses say that he was over 135? Is there a contradiction?

Who cast Jonah into the sea? Was it the sailors (Jonah 1:15) or was it God (Jonah 2:3)? Is there a contradiction?

Where was Joash buried? 2 Kings 12:20-21 says that he was buried with the other kings, but 2 Chronicles 24:24-25 says that he was not buried with the other kings. Is there a contradiction?

OUR MISSIONIf one ignorantly believes the Bible is full of contradictions, there is
little we can do to help. Even if we 'solve' a few supposed contradictions, opponents of the Bible have amassed a seemingly endless supply of apparent discrepancies. What is most unsettling to me is that Satan may gain the victory over a child of God overwhelmed by a myriad of assumed inconsistencies. Thus, we have determined to create and maintain Answering The Atheist.
