A Life Given To Christ
Romans 6:1-6 - Question 1
Is it okay for the person who has been buried with Christ in baptism to continue in sin, trusting in God's grace to forgive?

Just a few verses before the text which is to the right, Paul made the statement, "Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Ro 5:20-21). Anticipating that some might reason that it was then okay, perhaps even profitable to sin, since God's grace would abound much more, the apostle deals with the question of whether we ought to continue in sin after being baptized for the forgiveness of our sins. The answer, "Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?"
ROMANS 6:1-6
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin."
