What Shall I Do To Be Saved?
Acts 2:37-41
This weekend, I am away on a trip to Gander, NF. A wonderful opportunity and invitation has been given to me to share the message of the gospel with the people of this town. Here is the outline to one of the sermons which I will preach during the series of meetings.
Peter illustrated that Jesus was both Lord and Christ....
Ac 2:37, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
Ac 16:30, "What shall I do to be saved?"
Ac 22:10, "What shall I do, Lord?"
Various answers in religious world, what does the Bible say?
"WHAT SHALL I DO, LORD?" - Saul of Tarsus
"WHAT SHALL I DO TO BE SAVED?" - Philippian jailer
"MEN AND BRETHREN, WHAT SHALL WE DO?" - Pentecost crowd
Ac 2:36-37
They believed Jesus to be the Christ
Notice, what the answer was not... (".believe and be saved..." / "..accept the Lord into your heart...")
The answer was... "Repent and...be baptized..."
They were baptized and added...
WHY DIFFERENT ANSWERS? ARE THEY DIFFERENT?
We are talking about your soul’s salvation...
Don’t follow the traditions of men, follow God’s word...
Believe (Heb 11:6); Repent (Ac 3:19); Confess (Ro 10:9-10); Be baptized (1 Pe 3:21)
